Group’s Research and Development

Based on far-reaching know-how in technology and R&D, the future will see the Asahi Group develop new business models, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and foods for a healthier life.

Research & Development Center

The Research & Development Center in Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture is next to the Ibaraki Brewery. In order to achieve Asahi Group's vision, "to help create an enjoyable and rich lifestyle through businesses related to food and health", R&D is divided into two groups. R&D for the future is conducted at the R&D Center in Asahi Group's Holdings, and R&D for contributing to the product development is conducted at each operating companies.

Asahi Soft Drinks Co.,Ltd, Soft Drinks R&D Laboratory

Located in the Research & Development Center, the Soft Drinks R&D Laboratory is in charge of general research and development related to soft drinks.

The Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd., Production Technology Center

New products are developed by blenders at the Kashiwa distillery.

Institute of Lifestyle & Culture

The Institute of Lifestyle & Culture conducts surveys on the tastes and changing lifestyles of customers, then uses the results to develop new products and businesses.

The µFinder system

The µFinder system offers the technology in microorganism detection to meet today's demanding needs.
