The Asahi Group organizes the Group Environmental Council that is chaired by the Managing Director in charge of Sustainability of Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., and formulates the Group's Medium-Term Environmental Plan as well as monitors and assesses the progress of the Group's environmental activities overall.
Principles and plans that have been formulated at the Group Environmental Council are approved at the Group CSR Promotion Council, and reported and approved at the Corporate Strategy Board, which is chaired by the president of Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd.

The Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. Sustainability Section, which acts as the secretariat for the Group Environmental Council, conveys the approved principles and plans to each department.
At each factory, the Environmental Control Committee led by the General Manager of Factory promotes environmental activities that are based on the Group's Medium-Term Environmental Plan, the annual plan, and the environmental management program of ISO 14001, etc.
Furthermore, each factory not only takes action on its own, but shares successful case studies within the Group, thinking creatively to laterally spread the activities to the entire Group.
The status of achievements and progress on environmental activities are monitored and analyzed during each quarter by the Project Office of each site. The results are utilized for formulating plans for the next quarter or the upcoming fiscal year.
Global Environment Sectional Meetings have started in 2019. Environment management representatives from Asahi Holdings (Australia), Asahi Europe, Asahi Breweries Europe and Etika Beverages participated this year and held workshops on environmental data.
In accordance with ISO 14001 and Eco Action 21, training on Environmental Guidelines and environmental objectives are implemented at Asahi Group factories.
Using our environmental education tools, we try to instill environmental awareness in employees.
Targeting the environment representatives of domestic companies in the Group, the environment risk management seminar in 2018 discussed waste management.
Furthermore, major domestic companies of the Group acquired ISO 14001 integrated certification and provide environmental education through the training of ISO 14001 internal inspectors of the Group, in a Group-wide effort to improve skills in environmental management.
