Research Laboratories for Food Safety Chemistry —research and development of food safety assurance technologies

The Asahi Group develops latest analytical technologies related to food safety chiefly in its Research Laboratories for Food Safety Chemistry. It covers a wide range of areas, including microorganisms, agricultural chemicals, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and resins, as well as radioactive substances. The Laboratory technologically supports the Asahi Group's sophisticated safety assurance system both in Japan and overseas.
Scientific analysis of data for reliable quality assurance is crucial to the delivery of safe and secure products to customers. The Research Laboratories for Food Safety Chemistry implements quality assurance for Group products and raw materials by leveraging sophisticated technological capabilities and developing analytical technologies using various devices, such as time-of-flight mass spectrometers (TOF-MS) and DNA sequencers.
We present our technologies at academic meetings in Japan and overseas to obtain the latest information pertaining to food safety and daily changes in global trends, and support the Asahi Group's initiatives toward realizing the highest levels of quality in the world.
