Asahi Group Wins Grand Prix at the 3rd Nikkei SDGs Management Grand Prix

(Tokyo, Japan – November 26, 2021) - Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. announces that it has been awarded the Grand Prix at the 3rd Nikkei SDGs Management Grand Prix organized by Nikkei, Inc.
The Nikkei SDGs Management Grand Prix recognizes leading companies that work to resolve social, economic, and environmental problems through their business activities by linking the SDGs to their management, and boost their enterprise value. Based on the responses to the “Nikkei SDGs Management Survey” implemented by Nikkei, Inc. once each year, an external review committee comprehensively evaluates companies’ “SDGs management” and selects one company to receive the Grand Prix, and one company each to receive the SDGs Strategy and Economic Value Prize, the Social Value Prize, and the Environmental Value Prize, respectively. This year, 864 domestic listed and other companies participated in the survey, and the awards ceremony for each prize was held on November 24.
This time, the Grand Prix was presented to the Asahi Group as the most superior company in the three factors “SDGs strategy and economic value,” “social value,” and “environmental value” along with “governance” as the fourth factor which is their foundation, while both boosting enterprise value and contributing to the SDGs at a high level through its corporate activities overall.
At the awards ceremony, the chair of the review committee Kunio Ito praised the Asahi Group for its efforts in the global rollout of unlabeled bottles and other diverse initiatives to reduce plastic, and in resolving social issues by reducing inappropriate drinking from the perspective of responsible drinking and creating new drinking opportunities, and for adopting these as KPI.
