■ About My Bottle in The Forest
- My Bottle in The Forest is a reusable eco-bottle made from environmentally friendly materials. It aims to change in consumers’ dependency on disposable products and create culture of carrying their own bottle.
- The bottle is made from thinned cypress wood from Wakayama Prefecture mixed with plastic, so that it gives you a natural texture and aroma derived from wood. 28% of the materials used in the bottle comes from thinning lumber.
- It is designed to be re-capable, lightweight, and easy to carry. Its high durability and heat-resistance makes it possible to carry a hot drink as well. The finger ring attached to the lid makes it easy to carry.
- Printed on the surface of the bottle are the message “DRINK FOR GOOD” and the logo “MY BOTTLE IN THE FOREST.” It is also possible to print your original design on it.
- The bottle size is approximately 420 milliliters.
- It is available at Asahi YOU US Mall for 1,500 yen (excluding tax).
■ Introduction to Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu
- In its efforts to reduce plastic waste, Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu will gradually introduce My Bottle in The Forest to all the 177 guest rooms, starting from February 24, so that guests can use the bottle to bring water into their own rooms.
- Instead of mineral water bottles currently offered without charge, the hotel installs a water server on each floor. Guests can use My Bottle in The Forest to bring mineral water into their own rooms.
- The bottle comes in its original design that carries the logo of Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu and the pattern designed based on the characteristic outer wall of Shibuya Stream Building.
- This product is also sold at the front desk.
- Shibuya Stream Excel Hotel Tokyu has already switched plastic straws to paper straws. The hotel has made other efforts to protect the global environment, such as by replacing existing hair brushes and razors with environmentally friendly amenities using wheat waste biomass.
■ Limited-time Sale at Two Marui Group Stores
- Sustainable products including “My Bottle in The Forest”, “Tumbler in the Forest” and “Mogu Cup” will be on sale at its sustainable pop-up shops to be set up at Marui Family Mizonokuchi and Soka Marui of the Marui Group.
- The shops are scheduled to open from March 2 through 6 at Marui Family Mizonokuchi and from March 7 through 13 at Soka Marui (Products are only on display on weekdays and sales will be limited to weekends.)
- Free workshops, “Let’s make a straw with straw,” and paid workshops, “Coloring on TUMBLER IN THE FOREST” will also be held on March 5, 6, 12 and 13, to provide opportunities for families to think about sustainable efforts together
In order to address climate crisis caused by increased CO2 emissions and other social issues, including and the marine plastic waste problem, laws and regulations banning disposable plastic containers have been increasingly introduced, especially in European and Asian countries. There are mounting concerns about the disposable plastics problem in Japan, where mandatory charging for plastic shopping bags started in July 2020, while the Bill for the Act on Promotion of Resource Circulation for Plastics will come into effect in April 2022.
By proposing My Bottle in The Forest, an eco-friendly bottle that can be washed and used over and over again, as an initiative for realizing a plastic-free society and providing sustainable products and services that are familiar and sympathetic to consumers, Asahi YOU US will continue to make every effort to co-create a future with “fun, great taste, and comfort” and to achieve a sustainable and enriched society.
