Asahi Group Recognized with Prestigious "A" Score for Global Climate Stewardship by Global Environmental Non-profit CDP

(Tokyo, Japan - December 13, 2022) – Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. announces that it has been recognized for leadership in corporate sustainability by global environmental non-profit CDP*, securing a place on its prestigious “A List” for tackling climate change, one of the three environmental themes covered by CDP. This is the fifth consecutive year since 2018 that Asahi Group has been recognized for this score. In addition, its climate action is included in "Stories of Change 2022" published by CDP as a case study of advanced efforts.
One of the principles under the Asahi Group Philosophy is to “contribute to a sustainable society through our business.” Also, under the Asahi Group Environmental Vision 2050, with the aim of contributing to a sustainable society, Asahi Group strives to achieve zero environmental impact (“Neutral”) in its business activities by 2050, and to leverage its proprietary technologies to create more environmental value in society (“Plus”).
Asahi Group recognizes both this honorable achievement of the “Climate Change A List” and publication in "Stories of Change 2022" are due to its initiatives for reducing CO2 emissions to attain Asahi Carbon Zero targets for achieving zero CO2 emissions by 2050, such as utilization of renewable electricity, expansion of label-less products, demonstration testing for development of new clean energy models, and utilization of lightweight containers. Additionally, the Group sees its endorsing of the TCFD recommendations and quantitatively evaluating and disclosing the impact of climate change-related risks and opportunities on Asahi Group’s businesses with scenario analysis methods are recognized, as well.
With the aim of integrating sustainability into its management, Asahi Group has been working on group-wide sustainability by building a global promotion structure and setting targets.
