Asahi Group to Introduce Asahi Super Dry Nama Jokki Can in South Korea

(Tokyo, Japan - April 24, 2023) – LOTTE Asahi Liquor Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., is pleased to announce the launch of Asahi Super Dry Nama Jokki Can in South Korea. The product, which is already being sold in Japan, will be released in limited quantities starting in May. There are also plans to launch the product this summer designed exclusively for the South Korean market, which will be available year-round.
Asahi Super Dry Nama Jokki Can is a 340 ml can of beer released in Japan by the Asahi Group. A special interior coating produces a fine foam, which forms naturally when the can is opened, making it the world’s first* product that allows consumers to enjoy the same taste as a mug of draft beer served at a bar or restaurant.
After around four years of development, Asahi Breweries, Ltd. launched the product in Japan in April 2021 in order to make beer drinking at home a more fun and exciting experience. Sales were temporarily suspended because product supply could not keep up with demand, as it had exceeded expectations after its launch. Later, the product was distributed in limited quantities each month, and year-round distribution resumed in July 2022, once the production capacity had been expanded. A 485 ml product was later introduced, further expanding the product portfolio.
The product has also gained international acclaim, winning a Gold Medal in the Design & Packaging Awards at the International Beer Challenge 2021, an annual beer competition with entries from more than 40 countries.
Since its launch in Japan, the product has been a hot topic of conversation in South Korea as well, and LOTTE Asahi Liquor has decided to begin sales in May in response to a string of customer requests for the product to also be launched in the market.
