Announcement Regarding the Delayed Start of Operations at Asahi Breweries Tosu Brewery
(Tokyo, Japan - November 10, 2023) – Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. has announced revisions to its "Restructuring Plan of Production and Distribution Network", which was initially disclosed on February 15, 2022. Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. has decided to postpone the commencement of operations at the Asahi Breweries Tosu Brewery from 2026 to 2029, due to higher than anticipated construction and facility costs.
Simultaneously, the Group confirms that the Asahi Breweries Hakata Brewery, initially scheduled to cease operations in 2025, will continue its activities for an extended period because of the delay with the Tosu Brewery. As of now, the future plans for the Hakata Brewery location after its eventual discontinuation are yet to be determined.
Despite these changes, the impact on the business performance forecast for FY 2023 will be minimal.
(Note) “Tosu Brewery" refers to the "Shin-Kyushu Brewery" announced on February 15 2022.
